In this #HalfFry session, we screened the film ‘Lovely Villa‘ by Rohan Shivkumar and Avijit Mukul Kishore, followed by a discussion with the filmmakers about the intersection of their respective disciplines – architecture and film making.

Located in LIC colony, in suburban Mumbai and designed by Charles Correa, ‘Lovely Villa’ is the name of the apartment building where Rohan grew up in as he studied to become an architect. This housing project represents an imagination of the ideal community for a modern India. Using found materials, like old photographs and drawings, and stories, both semi-fictional and documentary, the film explores the architecture and ideology behind the colony through a personal narrative.
